The narrator is the same one used in the Grisha trilogy which offers the listener a sense of continuity and she does a wonderful job. Is there a monster or a witch in the woods? You'll be surprised and delighted to find out who is the culprit. I couldnt find more of a connection between The Witch of Duva and Shadow and Bone other than they are both set in the same world. They say that the woods eat girls who wander there. The Witch of Duva, like Tales of Beedle the Bard, is a fairy tale set in the same world that doesnt necessarily advance the story but functions to flesh out the world and add a little more magic to it. They say that girls should avoid the woods around Duva. Despite it's short length it is an entertaining tale. This is a short folk tale that is the companion to SHADOW AND BONE.
