![]() ![]() ![]() We will never remember Diana through films like this of course, but this is an oddly moving though hilarious account of 12 tumultuous years, and although less said about the support cast especially those playing the royals the better, it is the best of the sorry crop of 'biofilms' on Diana. Serena Scott Thomas plays Diana as a very wilful character more so than in Morton's book but affecting I think, and believable. Charles: There IS no substance to our relationship! And when Diana has either cut her wrist, or thrown herself downstairs, or run in tears from a reception, The Queen to Charles: What did you do THIS time! Although the costuming and sets are pretty good, small details like completely fictitious newspapers are irritating and I think unnecessary, it is recent history after all. ![]() The Queen: You must alter the substance of your relationship. Charles as played by David Threlfall is so beyond caricature, it is like watching a walking talking dummy from Madame Tussauds. The book shocked audiences for its disclosure of Dianas bulimia nerviosa struggle and how the Princess had made five suicide attempts due to her unhappiness. Many of the lines are almost beyond belief. Oh dear, oh dear, the very first Diana cash-in when she was still alive, I would really like to know if she ever saw this and what she thought. ![]() ![]() ![]() I have a copy of Shift in book form but I love listening to Jennifer Van Dyke read the Werecat series I just had to have it on audio too, It does occasionally have some cringing descriptions but all in all the books is a perfect balance. It is not the typical YA I read but it is also not a sex filled romance either. One simple word can describe how great this book is AMAZING!!! This book is a thrill ride from beginning to end filled with unpredictable twist and turns, action, romance, and Marc! *sighs* Beware the werecat series is an ADULT series. But let me get back to the subject at hand Shift. ![]() Personally though I would suggest starting at one and working your way through the riveting action packed series. ![]() Shift is the fifth book in the Werecat series but if you haven't yet read Stray, Rogue, Pride, or Prey you could still catch the storyline easily. I was so captivated by the world Rachel created I didn't even realize nine hours flew by or the fact that I hadn't slept in twenty-four hours. ![]() For example, when I received my copy of Shift I began reading it at 9pm and by the time I looked up it was 6am. The books just suck me in from start to finish. Ever since I read Stray, the first book of the werecat series, I've been hooked. Rachel Vincent has done it again! Anyone who knows me knows how much I look forward to reading anything Rachel writes. ![]() ![]() ![]() Otherwise, they distinguished Filipinos by their languages, the Visayans by their tattoos, and highlanders as primitive. Women, however, only tattooed bagangay hands, one or both, and the lines were exceedingly fine and had the appearance of damask or embroidery.
